Friday’s Photos ~ It’s Raining

Cosmos Portrait in the Rain

“Cosmos Portrait in the Rain”

The rain had slowed to a sprinkle. When I looked outside I noticed our Cosmos shining like little jewels.

The rain had slowed to a sprinkle. When I looked outside I noticed our Cosmos shining like little jewels. With my camera in one hand and an umbrella in the other I went to see why they were so bright when the clouds were still so thick. It turned out to be the Sun peeking through the end of the storm clouds just enough to to backlight the Cosmos. The Sunshine made the flower bright enough to use a fast shutter speed and wide aperture. This allowed me to hand-hold the camera while staying dry holding the umbrella.

InspireMe Monday ~ FAMILY

This is where my InspireMe line started; before I realized I could have created photos of the words and background separately, and then merge them in Photoshop.

For the Autumn InspireMe line I actually hand picked the maple leaves from one of our trees. I setup the leaves on a table to make a nice composition of leaves, taped the Scrabble tiles to a coffee stir stick and placed the word carefully on the leaves. I did this for every word, one at a time. Way more time consuming and difficult than merging photos in Photoshop.
